Stadskanaal tournament showed great improvement
Stockholm korfballklubb participated in the Stadskanaal tournament November 8-9. The squad consisted of Pierre, Carola, David, Emma, Robert, Catrin, Rickard, Angelika and Andreas. SKK played in the strongest pool and had to face three national teams, Slovakia, Scotland, and Luxembourg, all ranked higher than Sweden as well as a German elite team, Albatros, that eventually won the whole tournament. Despite a strong effort the Stockholm squad finished in eighth place. However, during the official interland game between Sweden and Scotland, five members of SKK, got their revenge on the scots, as they contributed to the first ever international win for Sweden. Stockholm korfball has held its annual general meeting and award ceremony. Frederic Mangematin claimed the title as most improved player, whereas Heather Main was named rookie of the year. The other winners were Angelica Gustafsson who was appointed busy bee of the year, for active participation in practice and recruiting, Toby Craig, party animal of the year and Fredrik Lindberg, home coming queen. The race for next years awards is just getting started.
